CHANEL Baume Essentiel Sculpting Review & Swatches

I’ve tried so many highlighters over the years, but CHANEL Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in Sculpting is still one of my absolute favorites.

What I love most about it is that it doesn’t really look like highlighter on the skin. Instead, it transforms the complexion and gives it this beautiful, fresh glow that looks almost like it’s coming naturally from your skin.

The texture is creamy and balmy, and the shade Sculpting is a sheer, satiny champagne-beige. It’s absolutely stunning and incredibly easy to wear because there isn’t an obvious stripe of color or shimmer sitting on the skin.

Shade & Finish

Sculpting is one of those shades that looks fairly simple in the stick, but once it’s on the skin, it’s gorgeous.

It’s a sheer champagne-beige with a satiny, glossy finish rather than a traditional sparkly highlight. There are no obvious chunks of glitter, which is exactly why I love it so much.

Instead of looking like you applied highlighter, it catches the light and makes the high points of your face look naturally luminous.

The effect is very fresh, polished, and effortless, especially when paired with lightweight complexion products and natural makeup.

Application

With CHANEL Baume Essentiel, less is definitely more.

I usually just dab a tiny amount onto the high points of my cheeks and gently tap it into the skin. You really only need a little here and there to get that beautiful glow.

If I apply too much, the finish can start looking oily on me rather than luminous, so I wouldn't swipe the stick heavily across the face. A few small dabs are plenty.

I especially love using it on the cheekbones, but it’s a really versatile product. You can tap a little onto the eyelids, above the lip, or anywhere else you want the light to catch.

It also works beautifully for those minimal makeup days when you want your skin to look fresh without looking like you’ve applied much makeup at all.

Packaging

The packaging is exactly what I want from CHANEL: simple, compact, classy, and beautiful.

The stick format also makes it incredibly convenient. There’s no brush or compact needed, and because I use such a small amount at a time, it’s an easy product to quickly dab onto the skin and blend with my fingers.

It feels luxurious without being fussy.

Is CHANEL Baume Essentiel Worth It?

For me, absolutely.

If you want a dramatic, metallic highlight that you can see from across the room, this probably isn't going to give you that effect.

But if you love glowy, healthy-looking skin that still looks like skin, CHANEL Baume Essentiel is beautiful.

Sculpting gives my complexion that extra bit of luminosity without making it obvious that I'm wearing highlighter, and that's exactly what makes it so special to me.

The only thing I would keep in mind is the balmy finish. If you're oily or tend to get shiny throughout the day, use a very light hand. On my skin, too much can cross the line from beautifully dewy to oily pretty quickly.

But applied sparingly? It’s one of my favorite highlighters ever.

Overall: A sheer champagne-beige highlighting balm that gives the skin a fresh, glossy glow without obvious shimmer. Beautiful on the cheeks, eyes, and above the lip,  just remember that a tiny amount is all you need.

Have you tried CHANEL Baume Essentiel? Do you prefer a natural glossy highlight or something with more shimmer?

Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch Review & Swatches

I’ve always loved complexion products that make your skin look like skin, just a little more perfected, and CHANEL Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch definitely falls into that category.

This is such an interesting formula because it has a lightweight gel texture with tiny pigment droplets suspended inside. Once you start blending it into the skin, the pigments burst and mix with the watery base. The result feels incredibly fresh, delicate, and almost weightless.

Coverage & Finish

Looking at the texture, I expected this to be more of a sheer skin tint, but I would actually describe the coverage as light to medium and buildable.

It does a really nice job of evening out my complexion while still allowing my natural skin to show through. You don’t get that heavy foundation look at all.

The finish is fresh, luminous, and healthy-looking without being overly shiny. My skin feels hydrated, and the formula doesn’t feel like it’s just sitting on top of my face.

I especially love this type of finish for everyday makeup when I want my complexion to look polished but still natural.

I picked up shade B30, and I’ve included some swatches on my hand below. My skin is quite tan right now since it’s the end of summer, but B30 is typically my go-to shade throughout the year.

Application

CHANEL Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch also comes with the cutest little mini brush!

I like to dispense a small amount of product first and then blend it into my skin, adding a little more anywhere I want additional coverage.

Because the formula is so lightweight, it layers beautifully. You can keep it very sheer or build it up in areas where you need a little more help without immediately making your makeup look heavy.

You can also use it more strategically rather than applying it all over the face, which makes it a really versatile complexion product.

Is CHANEL Water-Fresh Complexion Touch Worth It?

If you love lightweight, natural-looking makeup, this is such a beautiful formula.

What makes it stand out to me is that you get that incredibly fresh, hydrating feeling of a skin tint while still getting a surprising amount of coverage. A lot of very lightweight complexion products feel wonderful but barely do anything to even out the skin. This one actually does.

If you prefer very full coverage or a completely matte complexion, this probably won’t be the product for you.

But if you love that effortless, healthy-skin look, CHANEL Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch is definitely worth checking out.
