Studio Gear Smokey Eye Palette Review and Swatches!

Studio Gear Cosmetics came out with a Holiday Smokey Eye Palette which contains 4 shimmery eyeshadows and 1 blush. The packaging is very solid, slim and will fit almost anywhere. I really like that I can take it with me everywhere and also that it has a tutorial page on the inside, which helps create smokey eye look.

Like I've mentioned earlier there are 4 eyeshadows: Frost (white shimmer), Platinum (silver metalic), Glimmer (gold shimmer) and Coal (black shade with white shimmer). Platinum and Coal have the most color payoff, where Frost and Glimmer are not as much pigmented and they appear on the eyes more like a pure shimmer, glitter. I find Frost and Glimmer to be more chalky than Platinum and Coal, which are soft, pigmented and blend very well.

I created my smokey eyes using the tutorial on the inside and the look came out very glittery, which was I bit too much for me, so next time I mostly focused on using Platinum and Coal with just a bit Frost or Glimmer as a highlight.

I would say that my favorite shade of the entire palette is actually the blush called Snowy Glow. This blush is absolutely gorgeous! It warms up any dull complexion in a second. It has a satin finish so it adds subtle glow to the cheeks which I really like. Also the texture is soft, pigmented and blends very well.

Summary:
I really like the packaging and I love the Snowy Glow blush. The Platinum and Coal eyeshadows have a great quality and color payoff, while Glimmer and Frost can be used more as a highlighters, because they are less pigmented than the other two. Overall I think it is a nice palette if you are a fan of smokey eyes.
