It's kind of funny how I wanted to use word "drugstore" in the title of this post, meaning that those lip products won't cost you more than few bucks, but since ColourPop is only available online as far as I know, I thought it might sound a bit inaccurate. I guess we should come up with a new word to describe all those successful and affordable indie beauty brands, most of them available only online.
Anyways, I decided to do a post on everyday, super wearable, affordable nude lip products that I have been using quite often lately. Three of them are from NYX Cosmetics and one from ColourPop. Their texture varies so I will go over every single one to better describe their lasting power and overall wearing comfort.
Budget-Friendly Everyday Nudes
NYX High Voltage Lipstick in Flutter Kiss ($6) - Flutter Kiss is such a gorgeous shade. It is described as soft pink mauve and in my opinion is super wearable and looks very flattering on the lips. NYX High Voltage lipsticks have a very similar texture to MAC's Cremesheen lippies, but unfortunately, NYX's lasting power is not the best. I wish High Voltage texture stuck a bit better to the lips so I wouldn't have to constantly reapply throughout the day. I still love the color and the creamy texture feels very comfortable on the lips. The lip liner is not even needed because Flutter Kiss doesn't bleed.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes ($6) - I am totally obsessed with these and I do have two other shades. I think recently I got to the point when I am starting to miss lipstick that feels a bit more comfortable on the lips then extreme mattes, which do feel a bit drying on the lips and Soft Matte Lip Creams from NYX are a great alternative. I love the matte finish, yet comfortable and creamy wear. Cannes is such a beautiful nude mauve shade and I love wearing it to work every day. These Soft Matte Lip Creams last pretty long on the lips considering the creamy texture, which is awesome I think.
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Clueless ($6) - is a dusty mauve pink and it's definitely more on the pink, cool side when you compare the swatches below. Clueless was one of those shades that I thought it will be way too light for me, but it actually turned out to be very wearable and didn't wash me out and I kinda really love this color, ha. It is the Ultra Matte lip color, so it does feel drying on the lips after some time, therefore, I always try to remove all product before reapplying throughout the day. And I always use the thinnest layer possible to maximize wear comfort. If you want to check out my full review of ColourPop Ultra Mattes click here.
NYX High Voltage Lipstick in Flutter Kiss (MAC Faux dupe), NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes, ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Clueless and NYX Lingerie in Bedtime Flirt
NYX Lingerie in Bedtime Flirt ($7) - I would describe its texture as a mix of ColourPop Ultra matte finish with NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. It does have that creamier, plush like texture but it feels more drying on the lips than Soft Matte Lip Cream. Bedtime Flirt is the lightest of all shades and has a red undertone to it, which I wasn't sure was going to work for me but it did. It lasts a bit longer than Soft Matte Lip Cream but it feels a bit too drying for my taste.
One lipstick that I haven't mentioned here because I thought I already reviewed it on the blog, is Maybelline Creamy Matte lippie in shade Touch Of Spice, which has been my staple, everyday lipstick since a long time. The shade is absolutely gorgeous, but it is just a tad bit darker comparing to the ones I mentioned in this post. By the way, all Maybelline Creamy Mattes are pretty awesome too and super affordable!
