Best of 2016: Mascaras

I've been wanting to do a blog post about my favorite mascaras since a good few months back and the reason behind that was that I was really happy to discover some really good ones that finally gave my short and barely there lashes tons of volume and length without clumps.

Most mascaras I've tried this year have been on the higher end but I also found that when it comes to drugstore ones Maybelline is probably one of my favorite mascara brands out there. Over the years I've used many Maybelline mascaras and most of the time I was really happy with results (check out my full review on Lash Sensational which is mentioned in this post as well as The Falsies Volum' Express).

I've received a free Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir ($26) mascara from Influenster (you can sign up too to get free samples, you don't have to have a blog) and I am glad I did because it turned out to be a really good, clump free volumizing product that added tons of length to my lashes. To compare it to Too Faced Better Than Sex, Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir applies less "chunky" at first and it's more buildable without clumping than Too Faced. Love the simple packaging and the fact that after few good months this product hasn't dried out yet.

Too Faced Better Than Sex ($23) mascara was actually my first high-end mascara I decided to buy. I fell in love with the packaging and reviews online were crazy good, so I "obviously" had to try it. Better Than Sex adds tons of volume and it adds it instantly, so I just have to make sure I don't have too much product on the brush at first application because it will make my lashes a bit clumpy (especially if it's not the freshest). It does make your lashes pop and I've been really really happy with it. It gives my lashes tons of volume and length, the only downfall is that out of all four it dried out the fastest.

I am really surprised that PUR Cosmetics Fully Charged ($22) mascara doesn't get more buzz because I think it works fantastic! It gives my lashes tons of volume and lengh without clumps, like zero clumps (check some swatches here). It actually nicely curls them too and it's buildable even though you can see the results after only one application. I've been really impressed with this one and it's been among my favorite mascaras this year.

Like I've mentioned at the beginning of this post I've been a huge Maybelline mascaras fan for many years and for this post I particularly picked Lash Sensational because this mascara not only adds a lot of volume and length but it also beautifully curls my straight and short lashes to the point I can easily skip the eyelash curler (not that I use it on daily basis anyways lol). Great drugstore product and I have it in the regular as well as waterproof version.

So here are my favorite mascaras, that I've used the most in 2016. What are yours all time favorite? Any good discoveries this year? Share in the comment box below!

Happy Weekend,
